Nature of Work, Essential Functions & KSA's

The City of Delaware has a variety of Boards, Commissions and Committees made up of Delaware's citizens and a City Council representative.  These provide guidance and suggestions to City Council and City staff members in assuring the best interests of the citizens and the City are met in each of the respective areas.

Appointments to these are made by the Mayor and terms begin in July.  The length of the term and schedule of meetings varies for each group.

We currently have vacancies on these Boards, Committees and Commissions for appointment in July 2019:

Parks and Recreation Advisory Board

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is a seven-member board advises City Council and administration on programming and facility development.  The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board meets January, March, May, July, September and November (Third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm) at City Hall.

Northern NCA (New Community Authority)

The NCA is an organization that oversees the infrastructure improvements in the area and meets to discuss past, current, and future infrastructure improvements. The board usually meets once a year.  We are seeking a resident on the far East side of the city.

If you would like to be considered for one of the Boards, Committees or Commissions, complete the online application (you do not need to complete the "Preferences" section) and include a cover letter discussing your interest and qualifications.  Applications are due by May 31, 2019

All applications will be reviewed by the City Mayor.  You may be invited in to further discuss the role and responsibilities with the Mayor and/or City Council.  Appointments will be made at the June 24, 2019 City Council meeting.
